John says: Hi I am a cochlear implant user. Before I received it. I could not hear anything out of my left ear. And now it is restored back to around 80% hearing. Am giving it some thought to have my right ear done now.

Michael says: 3rd post I was frustrated with sudden sounds that came out of nowhere but that went away so those who haven't heard sounds before, bear with the program, it will get better

Michael says: 2nd Post I cannot describe hearing sounds I never heard before. To those that expect instant clear sounds, (House, the TV program, did not do us a favor showing instant understanding of sounds right after a cochlear implant operation)

Michael says: I lost all hearing in my right ear which I was hard of hearing for 65 years. My left ear still has a BTE for now but since the cochlear implant I received April 2011, I am considering the second cochlear implant.

Marlowe says: Today, my daughter (22 months) who has unilateral hearing loss started mainstream pre-school with her BAHA. I can imagine her favorite sounds included isolating her Mommy's voice calling out to her in the midst of the normal pre-school noises.
